耶稣会士禄是遒神父主笔的《中国民间信仰研究》（Recherches sur les superstitions en Chine）自1911年至1938年陆续出版，共计出版法文版十八卷。其中前16卷由作者与另两位耶稣会士甘沛澍（Kennelly Martin）、芬戴礼（Daniel. J. Finn）合作翻译为十卷英文本，于同期出版。此书面世不久，即受法国汉学界高度关注，被授予法兰西学院特别奖。并被后来成立的北平法国汉学研究所视做重要研究材料与参考文献。（文字介绍参考：评《中国迷信研究》）

禄是遒（Henri Doré，1859—1931）神父，生于法国，1884年来到中国。他在上海和江南一带传教达三十多年之久，在上海、江苏、安徽和全国各地调查中国民间的迷信习俗，并收集了大量包括中国年画、符咒在内的民俗图片资料。后因健康受损，回徐家汇藏书楼工作，从事著述、研究和教学活动。1931年12月在上海去世。《中国民间崇拜》（法文本）是禄是遒神父花费毕生精力，结合文献研读和田野调查，撰写而成的关于中国民间宗教的惶惶巨著。
